Visual ^e .NET allows records to be locked during access just like the character-base interfaces.  In a non-persistent solution the record is read and the program disconnects from the database.  Then when the non-persistent solution is required to update the record, it rereads the record and logic must be present in the solution program to handle what may have changed in the record while update information is collected.  What the VE.NET application provides is a true WinForms.NET solution in a persistent mode of operation.  This thin client mode of access only requires one program on your desktop providing the browser capability of your multivalue applications.  The business application programs are run on the multivalue database server environment.  No other executable programs are required on the local machine, which is a requirement if you develop window applications in Microsoft's WinForms.NET.

Visual ^e .NET Internet Client^TM, is the browser like tool to display your window form over the Internet or Local Area Network (LAN.) This .NET Windows client provides instant Internet or LAN access to your character-based applications.  If your host is connected to the Internet, Visual ^e .NET Internet Client can provide secure access for any user with an ordinary Internet access connection. Visual ^e .NET Application Developer^TM, the development companion to Visual ^e, allows you to design, define, and implement entire applications from Window screens—usually without programming. C#, Visual Basic or Visual C++ are not used, only multivalue databasic code is required.  Business rules, global input validations, and data relationships are defined in files and tables for ease of maintenance. Once a Windows screen is defined, you generate modular event-driven object oriented code with the click of a button.
